The theme of the AIDS 2022 is Equalize: Equalize access to rights, equalize access to services, equalize access to resources, equalize access to the best science and medicine.

Nationally, there were an estimated 23.48 lakh (17.98 lakh – 30.98 lakh) PLHIV in 2019. Maharashtra was estimated to have the highest number of PLHIV (3.96 lakh), followed by Andhra Pradesh (3.14 lakh), Karnataka (2.69 lakh), Uttar Pradesh (1.61 lakh), Telangana (1.58 lakh), Tamil Nadu (1.55 lakh), Bihar (1.34 lakh) and Gujarat (1.04 lakh). The tates of West Bengal, Delhi, Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha and Haryana contributed another 18% of the total PLHIV size. Overall, 90% of PLHIV estimates were from these 15 States

Causes of AIDS

  • During pregnancy or delivery or through breastfeeding.
  • From blood transfusions.
  • By sharing needles.
  • By having sex.

Prevention of AIDS

We can prevent it by some hacks.

  • Use a new condom every time you have sex
  • Consider male circumcision.
  • If you’re pregnant, get medical care right away.
  • Use a clean needle.
  • Tell your sexual partners if you have HIV.
  • Use a new condom every time you have sex
  • Use treatment as prevention

Non-Infectious

You can’t become infected with HIV through ordinary contact. That means you can’t catch HIV or AIDS by hugging, kissing, dancing or shaking hands with someone who has the infection.

Government should take come in front and spread awareness about it and some institution can also play major role in this hazardous disease.
